New Delhi, Jan 9: Mohammed Shami, the renowned bowler from Star India, received the highly coveted Arjuna Prize at Rashtrapati Bhawan, India’s President, Droupadi Murmu, during the ceremony on Tuesday.
Acknowledged as the second highest honor in India in athletics The Arjuna Award recognizes exceptional performances over the last four years, focusing on characteristics like sporting spirit, leadership as well as a solid determination to succeed.
One of the 17 athletes honoured for their outstanding accomplishments in 2023 as part of the Arjuna Awards, is the skilled speedster Shami. A remote village situated within Uttar Pradesh, Mohammed Shami was the son of a former fast bowler who became a farmer.
